Adabia Port

Adabeya Port is one of the smaller but vital ports operating under the administration of the Red Sea Ports Authority. The port's activities are mainly concerned with General Cargo.

It is important to note, when discussing the Adabeya Project, that the Red Sea Ports Authority's main concern was to sign on a single contractor, with the variety of technical capabilities to scan the scope of the project and the ability to deliver a Turnkey project.

Challenge:

  • Upon analyzing the Adabeya Port for the first time, with its' infrastructure, work flow and business community, the port was found to be highly lacking in all areas. The port was not operating as a full-fledged port should; in some areas, it was found that the required processes were not taking place, even if in manual mode.

  • The Adabeya Project was the first time for ISFP to deliver a turnkey solution; all with what it includes from infrastructure components and software applications.

Solution:

  • The first phase of the Adabeya Project was about establishing an electronic management system in the port. This required establishing a professional standardized workflow before actually automating it.

  • Developing and implementing the necessary applications required by members of the port community, such as the Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety (EAFMS), the Passports, Emigration & Nationality Administration, the Police and the Warehouses, among other parties.

  • Integrating and establishing electronic linkage among members of the port community and between them and the port authority, through an electronic message exchange system.

Benefits:

The Adabeya Port is now a fully operating port on the map of Egyptian port. The port is ready to be incorporated within a fully national automated network of ports.
